Wine growing regions / appelations


Mosel-Saar-Ruwer:
the wine growing region on the borders of Luxembourg and France and along the rivers Mosel, Saar and Ruwer. About 12,500 hectares of vineyards, mainly Riesling and Müller-Thurgau.

Winemakers:

Moselland, Weingut Dr. Loosen, Weingut J.J. Prüm, Gutsverwaltung von Schubert, Weingut J.J. Christoffel Erben, Weingut Grans Fassian.

Rheingau:

Starting south of Wiesbaden along the rivers Main and Rhein up to the town of Rüdesheim. About 3,200 hectares of vineyards, mainly Riesling and Pinot Noir.

Weingut Künstler, Weingut Langewerth von Simmern, Domäne Kloster Eberbach, Domäne Assmannshausen, Weingüter Geheimrat J. Wegeler.



Pfalz:

Starting south of Worms up to the border with France. About 23,500 hectares of vineyards, mainly Riesling and M?ler-Thurgau, but also Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Nahe:
Located between the winegrowing regions of Mosel, Rheingau and Rheinhessen; named after the river Nahe that runs through the growing area. About 4,600 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Riesling, but also Burgundy grape varieties.

Baden:

Starting from the Bodensee Lake in the South, along the French border and the river Rhein up to Heidelberg. About 16,000 hectares of grapes, such as Mueller-Thurgau, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.

Rheinhessen:

A square of vineyards between the towns of Bingen, Mainz, Alzey and Worms. With 26,500 hectares, Germany's biggest wine growing region, mainly Mülller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Riesling, Kerner and Scheurebe grapes, but also with a growing number of red wine varieties, such as Pinot Noir or Dornfelder.

Franken:
